Frequently Asked Questions
What is Counting On Success?
Counting on Success™ is an online math service that helps your child succeed in math. Parents often use the site to prepare to help their children. Counting on Success offers clear, step-by-step math help for 6th-, 7th-, and 8th-graders, taught by an experienced middle school math teacher. We offer a monthly subscription. For just $15.99 a month, you and your student can access 100+ step-by-step math lessons whenever you're stuck or want accelerated learning.
What grades do you cover?
The lesson videos cover grades 6- 8. However, for tutoring, I cover grades 3rd-9th. Whether your student is struggling with foundational concepts or aiming to master advanced topics, Counting on Success provides the support they need to succeed.
Who teaches the lessons?
The founder, Sarah Huber, teaches the lessons. She has been a middle school math teacher for nine years. She has a Bachelor's degree in middle school math education, a Master's of Education degree in curriculum and instruction, and an Education Specialist degree in Leadership. Sarah is skilled in math intervention and accelerated learning. Sarah loves teaching math and is passionate about instilling a love for learning in students. Sarah’s students often show increases in grade-level proficiency in year-end state assessments.
Is this good for students who struggle with math?
Yes! The monthly membership is perfect for students who are struggling with math because they can learn at their own pace. They can work ahead of their current classroom curriculum and watch lessons on content they'll learn soon. This can help your student feel more confident in class and give them more support with the content they are learning. Or, they can review concepts they have already been taught. The best part is all videos are under 10 minutes long, making the lesson bite-sized and easy for middle schoolers to pay attention to.
Can my child use it for homework help?
Absolutely! When I created Counting on Success, I envisioned a solution for all the hours parents spend at the kitchen table trying to help their students with math. Our monthly membership for video lessons is best for homework help, reviewing concepts, and independent learning.
What's included in the $15.99 membership?
Anytime access to our library of 100+ video lessons. These videos are step-by-step tutorials covering math content for grades 6-8. Each video also includes practice problems students can try on their own. Any additional content we create and post will be included in your membership.
What's the difference between the membership and tutoring?
When you purchase our membership, you will create a login that allows you anytime access to our library of math lessons. Tutoring is scheduled 1:1 appointments on Zoom with our instructor, Sarah Huber. These sessions are individualized to your students' needs.
Do you offer online tutoring?
Yes, I offer online tutoring through Zoom. Once you have a session scheduled, you will receive a Zoom link for your scheduled date and time. If you want help with specific questions, homework, or a test, please send the subject matter at least 24 hours in advance so I can best support you and tailor your session to your students' needs.
Do you offer in-person tutoring?
Yes, I offer in-person tutoring for families located in the St. Louis County area. Please message me to see whether your location is within my travel distance or if you can provide transportation to a location that is.
